Gathering Best Practices to Counter Classroom Biases

The MentorScape consortium is advancing with the collection and evaluation of best practices aimed at helping teachers recognise and counter biases in education. Each partner organisation has identified a range of practical tools and activities already in use across Europe, from reflective teaching exercises to classroom simulations and inclusive curriculum design.

These practices are currently being assessed against key indicators such as relevance, adaptability, and effectiveness. The evaluation process ensures that only the most impactful methods will be included in the Teacher Handbook — a central project output that will serve as a practical guide for educators.

The compilation of best practices will not only enhance teacher awareness but also provide step-by-step resources that can be applied directly in classrooms. This marks an important milestone in MentorScape’s mission to build inclusive learning environments and foster the development of teachers as mentors of change.
